I would refuse on principle to *ever* ask.
Although, on reflection, we shouldn't feel ashamed to. Khadija, RA, did and look who she got!
Of course, as my mum says, she was a divorcee and much older and experienced.
From this, we may derive the principle that one must not ask, unless one is:
: A divorcee
: A widower
: Over 28
- and it is at a time when people are honourable, forthright, and the woman in question is in a position of such standing as not to receive social censure for it - unlike most asian community ppl!!!
